but is they are really son of the mother, and sob of the father, is very natural they have things in common, afteral its the family genes they are sharing.
me: gray eyes like my grand grandmother, my hair is like my mother's one, i also have the same hair mark in the same place, my nose comes from my father, etc

But since lum and ranma1\2 were made in the same age, and by the same person, is very natural they have something in common.

Lum is 17 and Shampoo is 16. If Shampoo was Lum's daughter, she had to be born before UY, but Lum wasn't old enough to have children.

hmm, let me think about this lum was 17 in 1981, and shampoo 16 in 1989, but the american release was 2003 so that would mean she had shampoo in 1987, making lum 23 years old, makes alot of sense now dont it

You're mixing release dates in different countries...
If you're considering the Japanese release date for UY, then you have to consider the Japanese release date for Ranma too.
If you want to consider american dates, then it's 1998 for UY and, as you say, 2003 for Ranma, which would still make it impossible.

Therefore I say they can't be mother and daughter.

If you, by some bizarre idea, think this is possible, then here's the catch: when Lum has 8 she didn't even know Ataru. The only possible father would be Rei. But the offspring of Lum and Rei would be an Oni, and Shampoo is not an Oni.
Of course, we all know Lum didn't have a child when she was 8 years old anyway. That would be creepy... 8| 8|

This means that they're neither twins (not born at the same time) nor mother and daughter (Lum wasn't old enough).
They can't be sisters either, unless Ms. Invader cheated on Mr. Invader, but I don't see that happening either...
